Homeworks vs Contractor Autopilot

Homeworks is free for one user (up to 50 customers), then $299/mo for Growth with up to 10 users or $499/mo for Enterprise with up to 20 ($219 and $379 a month billed annually), plus $15/mo for each extra user — and it is one piece of your business. Contractor Autopilot is $199/mo flat for the whole company, unlimited users: one source of truth, 60+ features from the missed call to the paid invoice. No integrations to build, nothing to keep in sync.

Switching is free: we move your customers and set you up — with a person or with Morgan.

What Homeworks does well

Homeworks (formerly Copilot CRM, founded by Mike Andes) is built for route-based, recurring service work, and it shows. Paid plans include route optimization and saved weekly and bi-weekly routes, multi-step service programs, chemical application tracking, budgeted hours, a dispatch board, offline mode for crews, field upsells, pay-for-performance and a branded customer portal. Both paid plans include white-glove implementation, there is a real free plan, and an open API and MCP let you point Claude or ChatGPT at your data.

Best for: Lawn care and landscaping companies running recurring routes that want routing, chemical tracking and crew tools built by a lawn-care operator, and already have their phone and website covered.

Where it leaves you exposed

  • →Reliability is the complaint reviewers raise most. Founder Mike Andes has said publicly the bug count was close to 300 before a year-long stabilization project brought it under 50 (YGG case study), and App Store reviewers still report crashes and features that do not work.
  • →Reviewers on LawnSite report automations misfiring, with customers getting "service complete" emails at 3:00 am. Our automatic quote follow-ups only go out between 8am and 8pm in your business's time zone.
  • →Card payments on Growth cost 3.9% + 30¢ each; the lower 2.9% + 30¢ rate is on the $499/mo Enterprise plan. We charge no platform fee from Autopilot up, only Stripe's own fee.
  • →Their plan list has no phone answering and no website builder, so the call and getting found on Google are still other vendors and other bills.
  • →Users are capped: up to 10 on Growth and 20 on Enterprise, then $15/mo for each one after that.

One app for the whole business — finally

Homeworks connects out through Zapier, a one-way QuickBooks sync and an open API, which is a real strength if you like to build. The phone, the website and getting found on Google still live with other vendors you keep in sync.

1
source of truth, unlimited users

The call, the lead, the quote, the job, the invoice, the review and the website all live on the same customer record. Your whole crew and your office get their own login — we never charge per seat.

60+
features, five stages

Get found, capture leads, quote & close, run jobs, get paid — the whole business, not one slice of it.

0
integrations to build

No Zapier, no CSV exports, no paying a consultant to wire your tools together every time something changes.

The time it gives you back

The call gets answered, the lead lands in the CRM, the quote goes out and the follow-ups run on their own, only between 8am and 8pm your time, then the invoice and the review request. Nothing re-typed and nothing to wire together.

What it really costs to run Homeworks

Until now, nobody ran a contracting business on one app. Here is the rest of the bill you are still paying.

What it costs at 1, 5 and 10 people

Their price grows with your crew. Ours does not — every plan is unlimited users, so the tenth hire costs you nothing in software.

Homeworks column uses their published list price, read 19 October 2026. "What it doesn't include" is the same basket every time: answering service ~$300, website and hosting ~$150, reviews and social ~$100, local SEO help ~$300. We price Growth because Solo leaves out most of the features (no texting, automations or routing). Growth includes up to 10 users; each user after that is $15/mo. Our column is Autopilot at $199/mo, unlimited users, and $397 all-in with the AI Receptionist and Get Found (website and SEO) — the same basket.

The honest verdict

If you run recurring lawn routes and want routing and chemical tracking built by a lawn-care operator, Homeworks is a serious option, and its own FAQ is honest that it is not the cheapest. Where it changes is reliability and everything outside the route: reviewers report bugs and misfiring automations, card payments cost 3.9% + 30¢ on Growth, and the phone and the website are still other bills. Autopilot is $199/mo for the whole company with unlimited users — $397 with the AI Receptionist answering today and the website in it. And switching is free: we move your customers and set you up, with a person or with Morgan.

We aren't for everyone

Stay on Homeworks if any of this is you. We would rather lose the sale than take money from a contractor we make worse off.

  • —You run mostly recurring lawn or landscape routes and use their route optimization, chemical tracking and pay-for-performance every day. Homeworks was built around that work, and it is not worth breaking a routine that is running well.
  • —Your books live in QuickBooks Desktop. We connect to QuickBooks Online only, and there is no two-way Desktop sync coming. Do not break month-end for a website.
  • —You run 10 or more techs with memberships, commission plans and a real dispatch board. That is ServiceTitan's job. We would be a downgrade and we will say so.
  • —You are mid-contract. What you still owe on a term deal is real money, not sunk cost — put us on your renewal date instead of paying two bills.
  • —You already have more leads than you can work and only need to send invoices. A bundle you do not use is not a saving.

None of that you? Then the rest of this page is worth your ten minutes.
