Topline Pro vs Contractor Autopilot

Topline Pro is $199/mo Starter, $249/mo Core, $299/mo Pro — unlimited users, plus $200/mo for the Sales Assistant add-on and 20% of ad spend ($150/mo minimum) if they run your Google Ads — and it is one piece of your business. Contractor Autopilot is $149–$499/mo flat for the whole company, unlimited users: one source of truth, 60+ features from the missed call to the paid invoice. No integrations to build, nothing to keep in sync.

What Topline Pro does well

Topline Pro is the closest thing to what we do, and they do the marketing side properly. A custom-built managed website, real on-page SEO, written-for-you blogs, Facebook and Google posting, unlimited review requests, and quoting, invoicing and scheduling in the same account — with unlimited users, not per seat. If the pitch is "stop doing your own marketing", theirs is a real product with real humans onboarding you.

Best for: Owners who want the marketing done for them — website, SEO, blogs, social posts and review requests handled by someone else.

Where it leaves you exposed

  • Nothing answers the phone. Their Sales Assistant replies to missed calls, messages and form fills with text — it does not pick up and hold a conversation with the customer who is calling right now, and it is $200/mo on top.
  • Once you add that assistant to the Pro plan you are at $499/mo — the exact price of Autopilot Pro, which includes the voice receptionist rather than charging for a text bot.
  • No AI estimating from photos, and no phone measuring. Your tech still measures by hand and types the quote later.
  • Google Ads is another 20% of spend on top, with a $150/mo floor, and they hold the account.
  • Blogs are metered — 1, 4 or 8 a month depending on what you pay.

One app for the whole business — finally

Topline covers marketing plus basic quoting and invoicing in one account, which is genuinely close to our shape. The gap is the phone and the estimate: the call still goes to voicemail or a $300/mo answering service, and the quote still gets built by hand.

1
source of truth, unlimited users

The call, the lead, the quote, the job, the invoice, the review and the website all live on the same customer record. Your whole crew and your office get their own login — we never charge per seat.

60+
features, five stages

Get found, capture leads, quote & close, run jobs, get paid — the whole business, not one slice of it.

0
integrations to build

No Zapier, no CSV exports, no paying a consultant to wire your tools together every time something changes.

The time it gives you back

Photograph the room, get the measurement and the priced quote before you leave the driveway, and let the receptionist answer the next call while you are doing it. That is the part Topline does not do at any price.

What it really costs to run Topline Pro

Until now, nobody ran a contracting business on one app. Here is the rest of the bill you are still paying.

Topline Pro, Pro plan$299/mo

Live answering service for actual calls$300+/mo

Contractor Autopilot — all of it, one bill$149–$499/mo

What it costs at 1, 5 and 10 people

Their price grows with your crew. Ours does not — every plan is unlimited users, so the tenth hire costs you nothing in software.

At five people that is $649 a month — more than Autopilot Pro — and it still does not answer your phone, build your website, or ask your customers for reviews.

Same money buys the whole business instead of one slice of it: 60+ features across all five stages, unlimited users, one bill.

Topline Pro column uses their published list price, read August 2026. "What it doesn't include" is the same basket every time: answering service ~$300, website and hosting ~$150, reviews and social ~$100, local SEO help ~$300. Our column is Autopilot Pro at $499/mo — everything, unlimited users. Starter is $149 and Autopilot is $399.

The honest verdict

This is the fairest fight on the site. Topline Pro is a good product and the only competitor built on the same idea we are — run the whole thing in one place instead of stitching six tools together. Where it stops is the phone and the estimate. Their Pro plan plus the Sales Assistant is $499/mo, the same as Autopilot Pro, and at that price we answer the call in a real voice, measure the room from your phone and price the quote from the photos. If all you want is marketing done for you, they are a legitimate choice. If you want the call answered and the quote written, that is us.

Questions contractors ask

How much does Topline Pro really cost?

Plans are $199, $249 and $299 a month with unlimited users, read from their pricing page in August 2026. The Sales Assistant that replies to missed calls and messages is another $200/mo, and if they run your Google Ads it is 20% of spend with a $150/mo minimum. Tell us if that has changed and we will fix this page.

Does Topline Pro answer your phone?

Not with a voice. Their Sales Assistant sends automated text replies to missed calls, messages and form submissions. A real AI receptionist that picks up the call, answers questions and books the job is included on Autopilot Pro at $499/mo.

What does Contractor Autopilot do that Topline Pro does not?

Three things: a voice AI receptionist that actually answers the phone, AI estimating that prices the job from your photos, and phone-based measuring with LiDAR and AR so the measurement is captured on site and saved to the job.
